I paint leafless trees, portraits without eyes, and houses reduced to just a few essential lines, alongside my “Melacase”, empty and meanwhile welcoming. Though they may appear simple, they are intensely alive: the trees radiate energy and comfort, the portraits speak and look straight into you, the linear houses convey strength, and the “Melacase” invites you to pause and feel at home.
In these images, I recognize myself, at times incomplete,
at times distant and often “too much,” yet always authentic.
We own too much, far more than we truly need.
And at the same time, we have far too little of what we really long for.
